Director of Information Technology
Reporting to the Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, the Director of Information Technology leads the Office of Information Technology with over 120 professional and technical staff in the development and implementation of the University’s information technology (IT) strategies and policies to provide proactive and quality support to facilitate activities in teaching, learning, research and administrative services. The role needs to steer University-wide IT projects and institutional initiatives and deploy resources strategically and effectively to achieve the goal and vision of the University. The role will provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives, direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of the business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness and service quality for staff and students.
The candidate should have good global vision to introduce new IT to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness. He/She is expected to have strong academic and professional credentials, which include substantial IT services experience at the senior level of sizeable organisation(s). He/She should be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and team player, with excellent organisation and leadership skills to delegate and reform work processes for work enhancement.
Initial appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of three years, which will be renewable subject to mutual agreement. The University offers a competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, including retirement/gratuity benefits of up to 15% of basic salary, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, and cash allowance where appropriate and in accordance with the terms and conditions then applicable at the time of offer.
