The School of Education is a collegial, collaborative and creative space for teaching, learning and research in the discipline of Education. The school recognises the value of education that is relevant and innovative and is therefore a dual sector school that works actively with industry, government and the community partners in real world settings to provide a range of programs from specially tailored intervention programs for young people at risk of leaving education to PhDs in education.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of the School, within the University, and with the community, professional, commercial and industrial sectors. More specifically, the Associate Professor is responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School's Literacy Education programs, particularly in Primary and Secondary, and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to this discipline at a national and international level.
The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School. The role will work to make a significant contribution to the development, accreditation and delivery of the literacy related programs and to be actively involved in research, consulting and other professional activities associated with the Teacher Education Program.

Skills & Experience Required
As the successful candidate for the role of Associate Professor, you will demonstrate ability to manage award program/s and lead program reviews, with a demonstrated distinction at a nationally and internationally recognised high quality, high impact research track record. You will demonstrate ability to lead improvement of academic standards, including implementing best practice teaching strategies and dissemination of innovative practices.
To be considered for the role of Senior Lecturer, you will have extensive professional experience and leadership in in Literacy Education, with the capacity to speak across Primary and Secondary spaces. You will have extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
