The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic
The ANU is now seeking an innovative leader as its next Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic (DVCA), to build upon the University’s reputation for outstanding academic leadership and the student experience. Reporting to Provost, Professor Mike Calford, and working closely with Vice-Chancellor, Nobel Laureate Professor Brian Schmidt AC, the next DVCA will be a key member of the University’s senior leadership as the ANU continues to deliver upon its strategic goals and ambitions.
The DVCA will be an experienced leader and manager who understands how the leading contemporary universities align teaching and learning strategies, with all the mechanisms to provide a world-class experience and sustainable learning environment for all ANU students.
The DVCA will continue to enhance the quality of the University’s teaching and learning; promote a strong student focus and culture; and will ensure best practice in the use of data analytics to track, monitor and support student success.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a track record of strategic leadership experience, an understanding of the key issues, challenges and opportunities for Australian universities.
Critical to success will be a collegial style, strong internal and external negotiation and communication skills and a proven commitment to providing an outstanding student experience.
