One of the many ways it does this is by engaging experienced and talented professionals as teachers in our program. We would like to hear from professionals with expertise in the area of law.

Key responsibilities:

We are seeking full-time and part-time lecturers to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the Sydney City School of Law, and carry out activities to maintain and develop your scholarly, research and professional activities relevant to the legal discipline. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, curriculum development and evaluation in each prescribed area of knowledge, commonly known as ‘the Priestley 11':

  • Administrative Law 
  • Constitution Law
  • Corporations Law
  • Equity and Trusts
  • Ethics and Professional Conduct
  • Evidence Law
  • Law of Contractual Obligations
  • Principles of Criminal Law and Procedure
  • Principles of Civil Litigation 
  • Principles of Tort Law
  • Property Law

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Master degree in the legal field, or equivalent
  • Qualification in a relevant discipline area and demonstrated professional practice within the previous two years
  • Ability to coordinate, prepare and deliver high quality curriculum
  • Publications, either academic or practitioner
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Funding from competitive research grants
  • Senior or executive level academic leadership positions
