DEVELOPMENT AND EVENTS ASSISTANT, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, to provide administrative support for the managing director of development and the stewardship and donor relations associate. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and management of events, from small and simple to large and complex; helping to prepare for donor and prospect meetings, including drafting briefings and acknowledgements, follow-up and correspondence, and drafting contact reports; utilizing the MIT fund-raising database for inputting and tracking event participation, prospect tracking, stewardship and reports tracking, etc.; filing proposals, correspondence, event materials, etc.; making travel arrangements and processing expense reporting and reimbursements; answering telephones and greeting visitors; and performing other relevant duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be interested in a career in fund-raising, stewardship, or a related field.
REQUIRED: at least three years of nonprofit experience, preferably working in a university or research/healthcare setting; ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and anticipate needs; excellent written and oral communication skills; discretion with highly confidential information; proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite; and willingness to learn new applications as necessary. A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, along with experience in resource development. Experience with Advance a plus. Job #16789-5
Starting salary range: $22.50-25/hour, depending upon experience.
