Faculty of Science and Engineering

Curtin’s Faculty of Science and Engineering is characterised by deep research strengths and a strong culture of innovation across both learning and teaching, and industry engagement. Comprising five  Schools, diverse research centres and state of the art facilities, the faculty has achieved global recognition in radio astronomy, earth and planetary sciences, mining, minerals and chemical engineering, renewable energy and power systems, and molecular and life sciences.

Your new role

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and as a member of the Faculty Executive, the Dean, Learning and Teaching will provide faculty wide leadership and drive a culture of innovation and excellence in all aspects of learning and teaching. In collaboration with the central Curtin Learning and Teaching group, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies and enabling plans which deliver superior course outcomes and student engagement, and manage evaluation programs and quality initiatives which promote continuous improvement.

You will bring to the role

A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline and an outstanding scholarly contribution in learning and teaching is essential. You will possess previous leadership experience, strong exposure to HDR supervision and highly developed communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. You will also be able to develop and execute project and evaluation programs, drive change and build a culture based on Curtin’s values.
