About the role

An ongoing position for an enthusiastic and ambitious bioinformatician to support the Genomics Platform and perform analyses of genomic datasets is now available. You will provide high-level advice on both experimental design and expert bioinformatic support for research groups across the University in a variety of disciplines, ranging from environmental and ecological research to molecular and genetic approaches to understanding cellular function.

Skills and Experience

This role is well suited to a problem-solver, with skills in design strategy and execution of high-throughput sequencing experiments, expertise in the development and implementation of data algorithms and computer software for the analysis of genomic datasets.

Experience with Linux, Mac and PC hardware, software, and, expertise in programming languages is essential.

Demonstrated management and leadership skills with experience in managing staff to promote a cohesive and effective team, and the ability to manage and control budgets/resources/funding, will see you succeed in this role.
