The Department of Romance Languages & Literatures and the Humanities Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago are accepting applications for two full-time, one- year renewable Lecturer positions in Spanish language. Responsibilities will include teaching 7 courses per year across three quarters in addition to some administrative and/or coordinating duties.
Superior level of proficiency in Spanish as defined by ACTFL is required. An M.A. or equivalent in linguistics, applied linguistics, translation, or second-language teaching or acquisition is required by the start date of the position. Teaching experience at the college or post-secondary level and experience in materials development are required. Ability to teach Spanish heritage language courses and/or Spanish for the professions courses is desirable. Knowledge of one or more Latin American dialects is desirable
These appointments will start on 1 September 2019. These positions are contingent upon final budgetary approval.
