The Center for Information Technology Policy (https://citp.princeton.edu) is an interdisciplinary research center at Princeton that sits at the crossroads of engineering, the social sciences, law, and policy. CITP seeks candidates for our Microsoft Visiting Researcher/Visiting Professor of Information Technology Policy position starting in Fall 2019. The successful applicant is expected to be appointed to a term of 10 months based on their individual circumstances and availability. We are happy to hear from anyone working at the intersection of digital technology and public life, including experts in computer science, sociology, economics, law, political science, public policy, information studies, communication, and other related disciplines.

The visitor will be in-residence at CITP, and will be expected to teach one course during their 10-month term related to their research, subject to sufficient enrollments and with the approval of the Dean of the Faculty. Appointment will be at the rank of Visiting (Associate) Research Scholar or (Associate) Professional Specialist and will carry an additional title of Microsoft Visiting (Assistant/Associate) Professor in the semester of teaching.

Applicants must apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/9361. Please submit a current curriculum vitae, a research plan, and a cover letter describing your background, interest in the program, and salary requirements, noting any support you will be receiving during that period, such as sabbatical funding. Please include a description of a course you would like to teach in either your cover letter or your research statement.

For full consideration, applications should be submitted by December 31, 2018. Ph.D. in related field or JD is required. Appointment rank will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants who have a current or past professorship in a related field and to applicants who are nationally or internationally recognized experts in technology policy.

If you have any questions about this position or the application process, please feel free to contact us at citp@princeton.edu. All offers and appointments are subject to review and approval by the Dean of the Faculty.
