We fund ground breaking medical research, state-of-the-art equipment and innovative healthcare projects not otherwise funded by the NHS, and we are currently putting over £30 million per year into new funding. Working with our partners, we identify the best and most exciting projects that will have the greatest impact on patients’ lives. 

We are currently seeking an outstanding Director of Grants to join our dynamic Senior Management Team as we work towards delivering our ambitious grant making strategy and embark on the next phase of our development. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will ensure that our capital is used to grow excellence and is deployed into the projects where it can deliver the most impact. You will be responsible for shaping the applications put before our Grants Committee and Board as well as ensuring that they satisfy our corporate and funding strategies. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate senior and strategic leadership experience gained within a major grants giving body or academia. You will be an established grants professional with experience of managing a team from a range of backgrounds and working collaboratively within a matrix structure to support other teams and ambitious income generation targets.

You will bring academic credibility, strong stakeholder management and networking skills in order to build close working relationships with senior academics and clinicians. You will be entrepreneurial, an effective decision maker and be able to assimilate complex issues and take initiative. A PhD, Postdoctoral research experience, as well as a track record of working within a biomedical research funding body and/or academia is also essential. Perhaps most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative impact of high-quality healthcare and medical research.
