Position Description:

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Chicago invites applications for an economic anthropologist to join the faculty at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. 

We are particularly interested in scholars whose work is grounded in the ethnographic study of finance capitalism in the U.S., with related interests in expertise and technology and in cities and globalization. The successful candidate will teach in their areas of research, as well as on broader topics in social theory and the history of anthropological thought.
