In addition, we have pioneered the use of Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy to monitor exo/endocytosis in primary neuro endocrine cells. We are looking for a talented cell and molecular biologist who is eager to apply novel optical techniques to study vesicle trafficking and fusion in chromaffin cells and pancreatic beta-cells. One of our major goals is to extend cell-based imaging studies of vesicle fusion into the in vivo realm with 1 and 2 photon lightsheet imaging.
