Position Description: 

The Germanic Studies Department and the Humanities Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago are accepting applications for a part-time benefits-eligible Lecturer in German language, for a one-year, non-renewable, term, starting January 1, 2019. 

A Masters degree in a relevant field is required; a PhD is preferred. Applicants must have experience teaching multiple levels of German language at a college or post- secondary institution and demonstrated experience in language pedagogy. German language proficiency at the ACTFL Advanced High level required. Experience teaching at a North American university preferred. 

The teaching load will include five courses in beginning, intermediate, and intensive German over three quarters.
