The Head of College for Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (CSSAH), will provide leadership for the nine Schools and two Research Institutes, which cover 18 subject areas.  Students from the College become head teachers, economists, archaeologists, historians, museum directors, criminologists, politicians, lawyers, acclaimed writers and TV producers.  The College has a wide range of innovative and exciting research and international networks which facilitate collaborative work focused on theoretical and real-world solutions.

With 800 staff and 12,000 students, CSSAH makes an important contribution to the University.  As such this is a high profile and pivotal appointment for the institution and an exciting opportunity for a highly credible academic, with a substantial track record in research and teaching, together with outstanding leadership skills, strategic development and management, gained in a research-intensive environment. You will be an accomplished communicator who can lead, inspire and motivate colleagues across the College, and crucially you must be capable of leading change and delivering against the strategic priorities of the University. You will be committed to enhancing the student experience and improving the working environment for staff, ensuring academic excellence, in all its forms, across the diverse disciplines.
