About the position

Reporting to the Team Leader, Regional Science Operations, this position will have responsibility for the provision of a range of technical services and advise to ensure the effective maintenance of the capability and operation of the research and teaching laboratories at the Bendigo Campus.  In particular, this position will have key responsibility for the successful delivery of undergraduate laboratory sessions pertaining to the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Biomedical Science (Medical) courses in the School of Molecular Sciences.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

  • Completion of a degree in science majoring in chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience in a scientific discipline; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of scientific teaching and/or research equipment/facilities, with respect to operations, maintenance and problem solving.
  • Experience in the use of PCR, electrophoresis, enzyme kinetics and protein purification techniques.
