A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious engineer or mathematician with a strong publication track record to undertake research in the field of Optical Device Modelling and Analysis. Based in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, the National Graphene Institute and Photon Science Institute, you will develop optical devices for photonic systems.

You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in engineering or mathematics. Expertise in mathematical modelling of inverse problems, implementation of numerical optimization techniques for ill-posed problems with experimental data and scientific software development is essential.

You should have proven ability to work independently, possess strong theoretical knowledge to support experimental data analysis, and be able to present results in an effective manner. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners. Good written and oral communication skills are also essential.

The post will be available immediately for a period of 6 months.
