Aston University holds a Gold TEF and strong demand from well-qualified students for its range of undergraduate, Masters and post-experience courses.
The Accounting Department in Aston Business School is seeking two enthusiastic individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship activities. Candidates should have experience of teaching accounting on undergraduate, postgraduate (including online provisions) and/or professional training programmes to contribute to and enhance our accounting and business finance teaching activities. For these positions, expertise in financial or management accounting and related topics will be considered.
Candidates should have at least a good undergraduate degree, along with a Master’s degree in accounting or a relevant professional qualification, as well as holding a recognised postgraduate teaching qualification (or a willingness to attain such a qualification whilst in post).
We support participation in teaching-related conferences, and individual and collaborative research, especially on accounting education. With a strong tradition of management accounting research, the Department hosts the annual Management Accounting Research Group (MARG) Conference. In addition, we encourage networking with businesses and professions, especially in the West Midlands.
Currently the Accounting Department at Aston Business School has 25 full-time/part-time members of staff. The group offers dedicated programmes in accounting at undergraduate level (B.Sc. Accounting and Finance) and a number at postgraduate level (face-to-face and online). We are seeing significant growth in student numbers.
