£40,792 to £48,677 per annum

The BA (Hons) Graphic Communication course at NUA equips students with the skills and knowledge to solve complex graphic communication problems across a broad range of media and supports them to anticipate and shape future emerging trends and needs of the industry.
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to act as Subject Lead for the Graphic Communication course. The role involves coordinating, developing and delivering the Year 2 and Year 3 programme of the course and contributing to teaching across the three Graphics awards as required.
You will work within a team of seven full-time academic staff who support the three awards under a single Course Leader.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary graphic design practices and their multiple applications in industry, and will be able to articulate their vision of current and future industry needs. Skills and experience in applying graphic design across a wide range of screen/digital environments, including design for web, app design and UX, as well as print applications, is essential. You will be fluent in the current demands of industry and confident in helping to prepare students for a highly competitive employment market. Experience and understanding of interdisciplinary working, design-thinking, creative coding and human-centred/issue-based problem-solving is highly desirable.
You will have a credible and up-to-date background in graphic design, through both professional and relevant academic experience. You will be able to demonstrate high levels of organisational skills and the ability to work with colleagues across the university to ensure a high-quality student experience. You will be an engaging and innovative teacher who is focused on enhancing the student experience.
The post holder will be proactive and innovative in their approach to the role with strong team working skills and an ability to contribute to the management of the course in collaboration with the Course Leader and team.
