Job Description

Occupational Summary

Duke University requests applications for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director.

The individual filling this full-time position will be a member of the department's sports information staff and report to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics/External Affairs.

Requirements

Include experience in a collegiate or professional media relations environment; outstanding oral and written communications skills; demonstrated organizational skills; and working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and The Automated Scorebook.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to: managing the daily communications responsibilities for the baseball program; serving as the primary media contact for one additional program; producing media guides, game notes, news releases and feature stories; generating feature content, video and other unique coverage for GoDuke.com, the official website of Duke Athletics; responding to media requests; staffing home and selected away events; supervising statistical crews and other event support personnel; facilitating Duke’s social media platforms for assigned sports; compiling statistics, researching historical records for Duke department of athletics publications and assisting the Sports Information staff with additional duties.

Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
