Job Summary

Caltech’s Employment & Recruiting Service group is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Recruiter with a proven track record to support our recruiting team in various exempt and overtime eligible recruiting functions. The selected candidate will establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers and assist with full life cycle recruiting operations. The temporary position will be responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing and managing candidates experience for staff level positions across the Institute. This position is a temporary three month assignment.

Job Duties

  • Work with hiring managers in identifying needs and position requirements within various departments and divisions on campus
  • Review job postings and make recommendations based on division/department needs
  • Utilize and manage job requisitions through Taleo, our Applicant Tracking System
  • Provide managers with ongoing support within the ATS tool
  • Conduct phone and in-person interviews and provide recommendations to hiring teams
  • Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with hiring managers
  • Communicate and extend offers to selected candidates
  • Conduct reference checks and initiate background screens
  • Work in a highly collaborative manner with others across the Institute
  • Ensure candidates and hiring manager follow up and communication throughout search process
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required or assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of direct recruiting experience
  • Two years of experience working with an ATS (Applicant Tracking System)
  • Excellent customer service and strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and must be able to work within a team environment
  • Ability to recruit and evaluate applicants for both non-exempt and exempt positions using independent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to manage work load in a constantly changing environment
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and assignments
  • Ability to handle confidential information discretely and respond with appropriate discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Institute policies and procedures
  • Taleo ATS knowledge
