An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Fellow to take a lead role in a programme of work based in the School of Health Sciences, University of Manchester and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Funded by the Greater Manchester Cancer, the study is an implementation-evaluation of the Goals Care Initiative to enhance chemotherapy-related shared-decision making in progressing cancer. It involves a combination of element of implementation science and clinical effectiveness – known as hybrid design The project will roll-out GOCI in a stepped-wedge cluster randomised trial across seven cancer groups.

The role will include leading the trial implementation including day-to-day activities, training and oversight of staff across sites, participant recruitment, data management, report writing and adherence to Good Clinical Practice. You will be responsible for the management of other GOCI staff.

We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills; who can work well both in a team and using their own initiative. Previous experience working in the NHS and implementation science is desirable.
