Applications are invited for appointment as tenure-track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Division of Information and Technology Studies in the Faculty of Education, to commence as soon as possible (but not later than August 2019), on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Information and Technology Studies or a closely related field, and a professional teaching qualification. They should have strong research and teaching experience at the tertiary level, with a proven track record of competency in any area under Information and Technology Studies, particularly in the areas of information management, social media analytics, complex modeling of information flow with application in addressing social, behavioral and organizational science-related questions, as well as big data analytics in education.
The appointee will be expected to teach courses offered in the following programmes: Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Master of Science in Library and Information Management, and Master of Science in Information Technology in Education. Knowledge of the local context would be an advantage. The appointee will also supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research, and undertake school practicum supervision and administrative responsibilities.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
