The successful candidate will establish and lead the development of a new global Learning and Teaching Academy.  The Academy’s primary purpose is to support the delivery of the University’s Learning and Teaching strategy by working with staff at all campus locations to promote excellence in learning and teaching.  Key elements of the Academy’s operations will include: staff development, the promotion of good practice and innovation in learning and teaching, and the design and implementation of a recognition framework for learning and teaching.

Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Deputy Principal (Learning and Teaching) the Director will manage a small core team of academic developers, but will collaborate closely with staff in the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Service (LTES) and the Academic Quality team to support the University’s enhancement-led approach to its taught provision.

Energetic, collegial, and creative, the successful candidate will demonstrate strategic vision, well-developed leadership and team-building skills developed and deployed within an academic environment, underpinned by a commitment to enhance the learning and teaching experience of all students.  Although based at the University’s Edinburgh Campus, the Director will be expected to travel and to work out of other campus locations regularly.

Interviews are planned to take place on 17 and 18 December 2018.
