We currently have a 3 year fixed term appointment for a teaching specialist to join our Faculty in our Construction Discipline. This position will support the design and delivery of specialised BIM content/subjects at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.

The aim of the position is to develop and teach both the technological, design and management aspects of BIM to students in construction and architecture. The successful candidate will be experienced in the use of BIM and its related technologies, ideally with industry experience of using various BIM related software packages. Specifically, the candidate will have proven capability and demonstrate proficiency in the use of BIM software such as, but not limited, to Graphisoft and Autodesk packages, Solibri, CostX and 4D software such as Synchro. The appointee will understand BIM management. This will include developments in BIM at the national and international level in relation to guidelines, standards, and policies.

The person should ideally be familiar with multidisciplinary BIM coordination and the way it is executed on projects, the impact on project procurement, working with the OpenBIM standard IfC and applying IfC across the supply chain. An understanding of how BIM Management processes unfold in practice would be beneficial as well as experience in writing/applying BIM Management Plans.

The role may be offered as two 0.5FTE positions depending on the candidate’s availability. As the construction program has a significant gender disparity woman are encouraged to apply.
