We are currently seeing to appoint a Head of Secretariat to lead our governance function.
Reporting directly into the Registrar and Chief Operating Officer (who is also Clerk to the Board of Governors) we are now looking for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to fulfil the duties of this role.
In addition to undertaking a wider remit of providing advice on governance and associated compliance across the University, the postholder will ensure good practice and maintenance of up-to-date policies and compliance. The postholder will also play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of formal decision-making processes across the University and ensuring that they are fit for the future.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of UK Higher Education governance with a demonstrable record of achievement in this area.
In addition to the requisite educational qualifications, the ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels, and influence senior colleagues and stakeholders is paramount. Additionally, experience of committee and agenda management is vital.
