We are looking for a Research Technician. This role will involve joining the Host-Tumour Interactions Group, whose work focusses on cancer immunotherapy. The successful candidate will work on a project studying the role of adenosine in anti-tumour immunity. The main part of the experimental work will involve immunohistochemistry optimisation and then staining of melanoma tissues for adenosine receptors and other markers, followed by light microscopy and analysis with assistance from a pathologist. Other experiments will involve primary cell isolation from blood, macrophage generation and analysis by methods including ELISA and flow cytometry.
Candidates must have a good educational background, a minimum of two A Levels in relevant subjects or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ, City & Guild), plus some experience in a relevant technical/scientific role or considerable work experience in a relevant technical/scientific role.
This is a full time, fixed term post for a period of 12 months. Job share arrangements may be considered.
