The Institute of Thin Films, Sensors and Imaging (ITFSI) at the University of the West of Scotland have internationally recognized research programmes.  It is currently commercializing some of this work through the launch of spin-out companies and through direct commercial opportunities.

We are presently seeking to strengthen the ITFSI and the wider Physics team with the appointment of an academic staff member at the Lecturer level.  The successful applicant will be based on the Paisley Campus of the University of the West of Scotland, but will be expected to work at any of our campuses and international partner institutions.  The post holder will contribute effectively to research programmes in the ITFSI, to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels (including a new MSc programme in Advanced Thin Film Technologies), and to academic administration

A successful track record of research in thin film technologies and thin film based sensors and imaging, or a related discipline, and a strong publication record are essential.  The successful applicant will develop independent research within the ITFSI and will develop and lead new programmes of research and commercialization, attracting new funds to support our aspiration to grow the institute.
