The Division of Enterprise supports all aspects of the University's enterprise, innovation and entrepreneur’s agenda, as part of the University’s 2025 Strategy. The Entrepreneurship Team will drive the entrepreneurship brand of the University by building entrepreneurial confidence though foundational entrepreneurship experiences, exposing start-ups to the most advanced business models incorporating sustainability, supporting diversity and nurturing our deep ties to Asia, enhancing innovation capabilities and connecting start-ups to the international innovation ecosystem. The Michael Crouch Innovation Centre (MCIC) seeks to be the leader in integrating ‘making’ on campus and aspires to provide barrier-free access to the latest tools, technology and programming. Makerspaces play a key role in the evolution and realisation of ideas through cross-disciplinary collaboration and accessible technology.

UNSW aspires to build the largest network of connected makerspaces in Australia. Leveraging cross-faculty collaboration between Engineering, Built Environment, Art & Design and the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre, the Makerspace Network provides barrier-free access to tools and tech so that passionate students, staff and alumni can become entrepreneurs and innovators.
Reporting to Senior Manager MCIC Network and Programming, and working closely with other stakeholders, you will plan and coordinate all prototyping activities across makerspaces and MCIC Foundations. This will include rapid prototyping, digital prototyping and MVP development for the UNSW Founder Program. Additionally, you will support the Entrepreneurship team vision of supporting ‘100+ UNSW startups per year.
About the Successful Applicant
You can demonstrate your experience managing a makerspace environment, Strong knowledge and extensive application of design thinking and rapid prototyping methodologies, as well as the ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing needs and priorities.
