University Services comprises of 1,600 professional staff focused on providing client-centric and innovative services to the University. The group is providing transformational change, defining and influencing future service enhancements, and acts as a shared services function within the University of Melbourne.

About the role

The Grants Officer (International) provides efficient and effective support for research grants as well as assisting researchers and the University to meet obligations to research funders and partner organizations, with a focus on National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Defense (DoD) and other research funders.

You will work with confidence in supporting and influencing academics to submit high quality grant proposals and will plan, oversee, and develop new workflows for complex tasks and provide high quality advice to stakeholders. You will maintain relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally, and work collaboratively with other parties within RIC, individual academics, Academic Divisions, Chancellery and the University more broadly.

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about supporting research and exercise a high degree of independence and mature judgement, with a proven record of facilitating strategically important research grant applications.

  • Graduate or Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent
