With revenues circa $750m per annum and with a strategic alignment to industry, an exciting opportunity is on offer for a commercially astute and seasoned CFO based in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

As CFO you will be responsible for leading and continuing to develop a strategic finance function, as well as planning, coordinating and directing the provision of high quality financial services for the University. The role manages the financial resources of the University, while developing appropriate strategies to optimise the provision and use of funds consistent with the University’s objectives, plans, policies and management principles, including budgeting, management and statutory reporting. The CFO is required to maintain effective professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across functions to achieve set objectives.

Managing a team of 50 staff, you will have Board visibility and be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team who are focused on driving business performance and growth. 

In addition to providing the financial stewardship and governance to the group, you will be a key contributor to group’s M&A strategy, responsible for developing strategies to improve working capital and cash flow management as well as providing significant input into the overall business strategy.

To be considered for this significant career opportunity, you will need to demonstrate that you have track record managing the finance functions of large complex commercial enterprises either in education or industry. A natural people leader, you will possess a solid understanding of how technology can assist with business enablement and you will have shaped the finance functions to better suit the business.
