As a lecturer in the games subject group you will deliver core and elective modules in game art and game design and professional and academic development. You will also provide one to one support to students supervising final year projects and dissertations. If you have the ability to deliver high quality and challenging learning experiences that inspire and motivate students from a range of disciplines to engage with the subject, we would love to hear from you.

Knowledge and experience of standard art software packages (from zBrush to Photoshop, etc.) and game engines (e.g., Unity 3D and Unreal) and experience of teaching and/or project supervision experience in an academic or professional setting is essential. You must also have a good honours degree, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.

This is a great opportunity for an applicant with practical experience who is wishing to embark on a career in academia. New staff with no higher education teaching experience will be required to undertake a year-long part-time teaching course delivered at the university.

The position is based in The Department of Media Arts and Communication with 70 academic staff offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of Film, Media, Animation, Photography, Visual Effects, Games, Journalism and PR. We have nearly 1,300 undergraduates and over 100 postgraduates. The Department supports a range of collaborative provision in partnership with regional FE colleges and overseas partners.
