Position overview

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to contribute to an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project aimed at developing novel fabrication approaches for nano-micro textured surfaces with application including optical and functional coatings such as super-oleo and water-phobicity. Candidates should have research experience in nanofabrication, with specific expertise in optical and super(de)wetting coatings. The position will involve both theoretical and experimental research, and may require some interstate travel to conduct experiments and collaborate with project partners.

The Research Fellow will be under the direct supervision of Associate Professor Antonio Tricoli and be responsible for coordinating the research activities of the ARC project at the ANU, maintaining regular meeting with involved researchers, and contributing to the supervision of PhD students. The successful applicant will be expected to independently plan and carry out research activities associated with the project, draft scientific reports and publications and contribute to the daily management of the laboratories and safety procedures. It is also expected that the Research Fellow will contribute to the teaching activities at the Australian National University.

This position will be located on the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). CECS is one of the premier engineering and computer science research institutions in the world.  Comprising the Research School of Computer Science and the Research School of Engineering, both are recognized as research leaders in their respective areas continuing the tradition of excellence in research and research-led education. CECS collaborates on research projects with government departments (federal and state) and multinational corporations, helping to accelerate research and development programs and to introduce new technologies to the marketplace. CECS offers a wide range of coursework programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and also supervises students for higher degrees by research.  We offer undergraduate degrees in engineering, information technology and computer science along with masters and doctoral postgraduate programs.
