CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSIONALOffice of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Financial Operations (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide customer service to the MIT community and external suppliers for the Financial Operations team. Will coordinate responses to invoice and payment questions in connection with VPF’s electronic purchasing system, Coupa Buy-to-Pay (B2P); requests for payment and reimbursement; and general inquiries. Responsibilities include serving as a key contact to the community regarding B2P; guiding users/approvers through the system when they have questions related to general and/or invoice and/or payment issues; taking ownership of and managing the telephone and Request Tracker queue while providing prompt, first-rate customer service; ensuring responses on behalf of the team are compliant with MIT’s policies and sponsor requirements; deciding which questions/issues should be escalated to managers or business systems analysts; identifying trends based on community inquiries; making recommendations for system or process improvements and emerging training needs for VPF staff and members of the MIT community; planning, coordinating, and representing the team at training classes on processes and policies; developing and maintaining training materials for the new B2P system; cross training with the other customer service professionals in Financial Operations in order to provide backup; and performing other duties as requested.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED high school diploma; five years of related office experience, including at least three providing customer service; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to function autonomously and to recognize and anticipate departmental needs; discretion, tact, and good judgment with confidential information/issues; and ability to develop excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree and knowledge of SAP and Coupa Buy-to-Pay (B2P) are strongly preferred.  Job #16742-6
