Applications are invited for a committed individual to take the role of Finance Officer at The Trauma Audit & Research Network (TARN). TARN is the mandated audit for trauma care in England and collects data from Hospitals across England, Wales and Ireland for the purpose of analysis and dissemination which in turn, aims to drive an improvement in the standards of care for the severely injured patient.

As part of a small team you will be providing high quality support through the production of monthly management accounts, leading financial control processes (including reconciliations) and the taking responsibility for the reliability of TARN financial records for the TARN Executive Director who will then present to the Executive Committee and TARN Board. The role also includes working with the Executive Director with budget/forecasting process and analytical review, and with the Executive Director, have the responsibility for all year to date and year-end reports.

You will be expected to use your initiative to provide excellent accounting support and administration, and working both independently and with senior colleagues at TARN and members of the University research finance team. As part of the role, you will be expected to assist the Executive Director in setting up of new grant funded projects and the administration associated with it.

You should ideally be highly organised and have excellent communication skills enabling you to work with people at all levels.

Familiarity with University of Manchester accounting systems is desirable but not essential.

The role will be based at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
