Job description

The School of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences is looking to recruit a part time (0.5 FTE) Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to assistant with research into inflammatory neurodegeneration. The successful candidate will work with academic colleagues to conduct research and publish in this area.

You will join an enthusiastic team working in state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, with excellent opportunities to develop research collaborations with academic colleagues in the School, College and University as well as with partners in industry. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of Biomedical Sciences and competence in a variety of relevant research techniques.

A PhD in toxicology, oncology, neurodegenerative disease or related fields is essential with some experience of spectrochemical methodologies and data handling as well as recent research experience in an appropriate academic or professional setting. The successful candidate will have experience of conducting qualitative research and experience of leading research in a competitive area.

The post holder will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work on individual and joint research projects. A high level of self-motivation is essential alongside excellent planning and organisational skills.
