MASTER OF ST BENET'S HALL
St Benet’s Hall is a Permanent Private Hall in the University of Oxford established in 1897 by the Benedictine community of Ampleforth Abbey.
Today it is a vibrant community providing a Benedictine context for undergraduate and graduate studies and welcomes students of all faiths or none. In 2019 the post of Master will become vacant, and an outstanding candidate is sought to fill this role and lead the strategic development of St Benet’s Hall.
The new Master will have a good understanding of academic life in the context of higher education and will demonstrate a true commitment to the Benedictine character of St Benet’s and the Ampleforth community. Outstanding leadership skills and a willingness to work within collegiate structures will be essential as will be an ability to plan strategically for the future of St Benet’s. Financial acumen will be vital and this will be coupled with a track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships and experience of leading fundraising activities to assure the future development of St Benet’s.
