Assist Laundry Intermediate Supervisor in leading production staff. Supervision is received from Laundry Director. Daily employee assignments to various work stations. Monitor employee productivity for standard performance, provide data to Laundry Intermediate Supervisor for under-performance, and submit recommendations for improvement. Participate in daily workflow plan for productivity and communicate with other supervisors on daily work to be accomplished. Coordinate the production needs for work areas to ensure daily production requirements of distinct items are processed. Perform quality checks of processed and finished goods. Work with Maintenance to immediately address equipment problems to keep equipment running. Provide input to Laundry Intermediate Supervisor on employee annual performance evaluation and assist in coordinating annual mandatories. Maintain accurate data of employee upgrades in a legible and concise manner. Ensure that data is collected and collated in prescribed manner to facilitate reporting. Participate in discussions on safety standards and report unsafe conditions or practices. Liaison with Linen Distribution to respond to linen needs for Main Hospital and provide customer service to facilities as needed.
emonstrated experience as a lead worker or supervisory role with a minimum of 6 months in said role. Candidate must exhibit a high aptitude for learning and adjusting to Laundry Processing Environment. Managerial experience applicants would receive consideration. Applicants must submit a resume with pertinent information that qualifies them in the above criteria. Successful candidate must be able to work independently to assess when modification of daily plan is necessary. Ability to motivate staff and maintain staff focused in an organized manner towards goals. A self-directed individual that can work in a fast-paced environment with a visionary outlook beyond the present moment. Minimum education should be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Previous supervisory experience in a union setting or ability to assimilate and learn in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures. Experience using common business software (ex. MS Office). Knowledge of standard practices and procedures. Knowledge of training and supervising techniques. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. Knowledge of labor relations and applicable AFSCME union contracts. Knowledge of equal employment opportunity policies and procedures. Ability to monitor and evaluate program and organizational performance in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
