The University of Bristol is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant.
The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the transition of the School of Economics, Finance & management from one to three schools. This will mean supporting both activity heads within the Faculty of Social Science & Law, and also assisting the Finance Business Partner and Deputy Finance Business Partner within the Faculty Finance Team in delivering strategic financial advice and support to Schools and Divisions through the provision of accounting, financial management and financial reporting services.

Information and advice will principally relate to the support of academic activity heads with budget management information as part of the monthly finance reporting cycle. The Assistant Accountant is required to take a customer focussed approach to the provision of financial information and analysis and acts as first line support for colleagues in the three proto-Schools who require assistance in relation to financial matters.

We are looking for applicants with AAT and to be working towards or with a desire to undertake a CCAB accounting qualification. You should have an aptitude for working with finance and non-finance specialists and a customer service focused attitude. You should be a good communicator, able to organise workloads effectively and work well under pressure.

This role is fixed term until 31st July 2020.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity, please contact: Euan Hendrie, Head of Finance Business Partnering: euan.hendrie@bristol.ac.uk.
