Bristol Renal has an opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a Kidney Research UK funded project entitled ‘Mineralocorticoid receptor-induced metalloproteinase activity as a key mechanism in common glomerular disorders”. This is a 33 month project under the supervision of Dr Simon Satchell amongst others, based in the internationally renowned Bristol Renal research group which is part of the Bristol Heart Institute, one of Bristol University’s two biomedical flagship research institutes.
The project will use models of renin-angiotensin system activation and diabetes, and in vitro work in human cells, to define the role of metalloproteinases in common kidney diseases. The post would suit an applicant with experience in laboratory research who wishes to pursue a career in renal disease or more broadly in cardiovascular disease research.
