The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences 

The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences is Australia’s most diversified agriculture research and teaching School, comprising research and teaching experts in agribusiness and the science disciplines of animals and wildlife, plants and soil sciences, food and nutrition science. With nearly 350 staff, 300 higher degree research students and over $33 million in operating and research income, the School has helped UQ to become recognised as the world’s top ranked tropical agriculture university, and the leading agriculture university in Australia.

Located at St Lucia and Gatton, the School is a large and dynamic multidisciplinary hub focused on applied research and teaching within the Faculty of Science committed to finding innovative and technology focused solutions to global challenges. The School offers a range of undergraduate postgraduate coursework and research degrees encompassing agriculture and related disciplines ranging from Bachelor Degree to Doctorate.

With a diverse group of internationally regarded scientists, the School hosts six research concentrations, of which three are aligned with the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation– a joint initiative between The University of Queensland and the Queensland State Government. The role

This role will be central to the development, practice, evaluation and communication of improved pedagogies, learning processes, curricula, policies and learning materials. The role will have a clear focus on course delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level including face to face, on-line and distance learning.

This position will be a vital conduit for the flow of information and service delivery for a range of key stakeholders both within the School and the broader UQ community with a view to enhancing and transforming the learning and teaching experience and the provision of expert advice on emerging trends in educational technologies and the use of these technologies.

The person

To be successful in this position you will possess a relevant degree with experience and expertise in educational/instructional design and educational technologies, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.

You will also have a demonstrated commitment to the scholarship of teaching, including capability to engage and facilitate learning and teaching and to deliver innovative course and program material for effective learning practices in the fields of agriculture, biology, ecology, food and environmental science.

The successful applicant will also require experience in the pedagogy of using technologies to develop e-learning materials and programs including programs such as Google Apps for Education, Moodle, Turnitin, and EQUELLA.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level A or B.

The remuneration for Academic Level A will be in the range $66,283 - $89,285 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $77,551 - $104,464 p.a.). 

The remuneration for Academic Level B will be in the range $93,985 - $111,607 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $109,963 - $130,580 p.a.).
