The School of Mathematics is looking to recruit an outstanding academic to lead our expansion in data science.
The University of Bristol is building its data science capability as part of our strategic priorities, and has existing world-class research expertise across science and engineering, including mathematics and statistics.
The School of Mathematics currently comprises around ninety academics, and already has substantial relevant expertise in data science, augmented by several recent hires at Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level. The School also houses the Heilbronn Institute (a partnership with GCHQ), which is currently expanding its capability in data science. In 2018 the School has launched a new MSc in the Mathematics of Cybersecurity.
You will have an outstanding track record of academic research leadership, teaching and innovative curriculum development. Existing partnerships and strong connections with external organisations are highly desirable.
