The Maestro Care Connect/MyChart/MedLink Application Analyst is primarily responsible for the development, product design, testing cycles, training, deployment, and post-implementation support, of the Maestro Care MyChart and MedLink applications. This includes planning for, performance of, and managing tasks associated with the use of the application, and supporting MyChart users in the Maestro Care EHR environment. This analyst will work closely with other members on a team that is responsible for building and supporting the MyChart and MedLink applications, and this team is responsible for deploying the electronic health record to newly acquired and newly affiliating clinics through the connect process. This team works cross functionally to develop team members by growing skill sets and supports each other through increasing individual expertise and increasing contribution of individual team members in an effort to enhance the expertise and performance of the team overall. Teamwork is essential on this small but important team. This team is responsible for creating and building a modern digital presence to allow patients to effectively interact with the health system and their providers in new and exciting ways. We will be integrating with wearable devices and evolving technology to import clinical data in new and expanding ways. This team is responsible for a tremendously important patient portal that helps to differentiate Duke University Health System from others.

Work Performed

Level 1

  • Will be required to obtain Epic proficiency and/or certification through a combination of classroom instruction at Epic (Madison, Wisconsin), self-directed learning, multiple project assignments and competency exams Interprets and analyzes systems, data, and information with necessary support and supervision Implements applications, tools, processes and structures that assist end users with the management of the application to enhance the patients' experience and active participation in their health and health care
  • Provides systems support, including troubleshooting and the configuration and testing of software
  • Ensures security of technology solutions with necessary support and supervision
  • Participates in planning and providing customer training sessions on system use or revisions of the application
  • Assists in making oral and written presentations to project teams and management
  • Completes moderately complex tasks and portions of larger information system projects with direction Identifies internal resources to build project team performance
  • Updates system, operational and department documentation
  • Recommends areas for process improvement
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and follow all change control processes defined within Maestro Care

Level 2

  • In addition to the duties described for the Level 1, the Level 2 will:
  • Provide identified liaison services between Epic and identified Maestro Care Ambulatory EHR application, deployment and development staff.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of deployment tasks, clinical workflow interpretation, and participate in Maestro Care Ambulatory EHR application build, testing and support.
  • Advise and assist with educational issues, including cross-training of team members, end-users and DHTS Service Desk via face-to-face, via phone or email and via training classes.
  • Act as a Maestro Care MyChart application expert for base functionality.
  • Update test plans to account for testing of new features with all releases.
  • Assist in the design and specification of bug-fixes to ensure they meet the needs of the Duke environment, as well as participate in design sessions and review of specifications for new features and enhancements in the Maestro Care EHR.

  • Work with others on the Application Support team to support maintenance of user access to Maestro Care EHR systems.
  • Provide both business and after hours on-call support for issues pertaining to production: including the analysis, implementation of approved changes, analysis of new functionality, coordination of software release updates, system testing and interface enhancements
  • Participate in planning and development of strategies to market the MyChart application to the end using audience (patients), including analysis of how patients interact with the MyChart platform to enhance their health and health care delivery experience.
  • Proactively complete assigned Maestro Care application deployment(s), management and testing tasks within defined timeline
  • Build, test, and debug Epic application(s) to ensure the system meets end user requirements
  • Responsible for writing and executing test plans, documenting and resolving defects within Quality Center
  • Document system and user procedures as necessary within ServiceNow
  • Makes oral and written presentations to project teams, management, and other departments
  • Identifies areas for procedural improvements.
  • Provides detailed specifications describing functions to be automated
  • Works closely with report writers to ensure all operational and regulatory reporting needs are met
  • Provides oversight within identified development and production support meetings, reviews, and design sessions as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
 
Education

Bachelor's degree in a related clinical or technical field, or four years of equivalent technical experience required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

LEVEL 1: If applicable, maintenance of North Carolina licensure or certification in related clinical discipline is required for all levels.

LEVEL 2: In addition to the requirements described for the Level 1, the Level 2 requires: Certification in an area of application support of a technical or support nature preferred.

LEVEL 3: In addition to the requirements described for the Level 2, the Level 3 requires: Certification in an area of application support of a technical or support nature strongly preferred. 

Experience

Level 1 - No experience required beyond the minimum education (or equivalency) requirement. Level 2 - Three years of related experience is required. Level 3 - Five years of related experience is required.
