About the role

  • Lecturer (Level B) in Accounting (all areas) $103,047 - $121,478 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • 5-year fixed term tenure track
  • Full-time (35 hours per week) 
  • 17% superannuation and 17.5 % Holiday loading
  • The successful candidate may receive an income supplementation

About the successful applicant

The School of Accounting at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia seeks to make a new appointment for an exceptional candidate to deliver outstanding teaching and student experience into undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, as well as research and engagement in the school, evidenced by a high level of past performance in research, teaching and service/or potential, relative to the level of appointment.

The position involves teaching in the areas of Auditing, Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A PhD degree in Accounting or related discipline (or equivalent research record) or expected to complete their degree requirements within three months of commencing this role.
  • Expected or demonstrated excellence in publishing in top accounting journals.
  • A demonstrated ability for teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Accounting.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of blended and online teaching and learning pedagogies.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • An ability to supervise Honours and postgraduate research students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain research funding and participate in collaborative research and educational projects.
  • Willingness to be involved with and contribute to the accounting profession.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
