This position will make contributions to the coordination and teaching effort of the institution specifically the Sculpture stream. The incumbent will participate in the undergraduate and graduate teaching program and contribution to the institution’s research culture through Honours and Postgraduate supervision, mentoring, and through the appointee’s own research initiatives and exhibitions.

The successful applicant will be a highly renowned visual artist with a demonstrated capacity to engage with current and emerging art practices and discourse, have a PhD in the field of contemporary art practice (or immanent submission / willingness to undertake) with relevant professional experience. Substantial teaching experience in an Arts School context, significant achievements on contemporary art practice, an understanding of the research environment and interest in curriculum development are also required.

This is a full time, continuing position. The role is primarily located at the Southbank Campus, in the heart of Melbourne’s art precinct.
