Senior Lab Manager in Cellular Immunology and Rheumatology

The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet. The department consists of several units that are separated into different research groups. The core activities of the department are research, doctoral education and undergraduate education for medical and biomedical students. The research has three main profiles: allergy, cardiovascular medicine and inflammatory diseases.
At the Rheumatology Division at the department of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet at Karolinska University Hospital, Solna, there is a need for a qualified cellular immunologist who will be able to manage a project on immune-regulation and immune tolerance development in rheumatic disease, and in particular in arthritis.
The task includes the development of systems in human for immune-surveillance of antigen-specific B and T cells in patients with rheumatic diseases as well as work on tolerance therapies in rodents.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in a relevant field of medicine, have a good knowledge of immunology and of B and T cell work, and should also have experience of work with immunotherapies in humans or in rodents. Previous work in laboratories outside Sweden is a strong merit for this position, in particular if this work has involved studies in cellular immunology and mucosal immunology as well as immune tolerance studies.
The candidate should have a good knowledge of genetics and of immune reactions of interest for the initiation, disease course and therapies of arthritis. The candidate should also have a documented ability to produce and publish science in English.
