The Research & Innovation Portfolio oversees research and research training across the University through the development and implementation of RMIT University's strategic research priorities and managing research systems and reporting requirements. The Portfolio supports the research activity of staff and student researchers with professional development, collaboration and funding opportunities, ethics and responsible conduct compliance, contract development, intellectual property, project completions and profiling.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Grants Officer provides proactive and customer service-oriented support to the RMIT research community and other stakeholders for all types of competitive research grant and fellowship applications. The Grants Officer promotes research funding opportunities, reviews grant proposals for compliance and eligibility, and submits University-endorsed applications to external funding bodies. In doing so, the position contributes to achieving RMIT's objective of increasing its external research income and maintains the University's good reputation for effective and efficient grant management and administration.

Skills & Experience Required

As the successful candidate, you will have proven experience in an administration environment, preferably in a University environment. You will have ability to interpret and apply complex instructions and guidelines and the ability to critique documents and provide constructive feedback. Furthermore, you will have proven ability to contribute to continuous process improvement.
