Faculty of Business, Economics and Law

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law aims to provide a world-class business, economics and law education that opens minds and facilitates possibilities for our students, alumni, staff and the broader community. The Faculty incorporates the UQ Business School, the School of Economics, the School of Law, the Australian Institute for Business & Economics and the Centre for the Business & Economics of Health. 

The Faculty offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs to approximately 11,000 students which allow for a wide range of specialisations or concentrations, with a high degree of relevance to employers.

The role

This hands-on role will see you work alongside an experienced team of marketing and communications professionals to deliver innovative and best-practice digital and social campaigns that drive student, alumni and external engagement, and promote our world-leading teaching and research capabilities.

As our Digital Marketing and Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in growing our online presence and reputation through our many faculty and school channels – from edms to social to web.

You will work closely with our schools and faculty professional services teams – notably our Student Experience Team, Advancement team and International Services Unit – to help develop and deliver digital solutions and promotions for their many programs, events and outreach activities.

The person

You will have qualifications in relevant disciplines and exceptional writing and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrated experience in all things digital communications – from strategy and execution to analysis and continual improvement.

You will be proactive, creative and collaborative with demonstrated ability to write engagingly for various target audiences across a variety of mediums and channels.

Most importantly, you will love to learn and enjoy telling stories that showcase the global excellence, impact and relevance of the University and its people.


This is a part-time (4 days/0.8 FTE), continuing position at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $61,179 – $74,098 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%.
