Overview

The Library Services Centre provides a range of specialist information services that enable the students and staff of Edith Cowan University to achieve their teaching, learning, and research goals.  Within the context of a changing academic environment, these services include management and provision of information resources in various formats, specialist information support to research and teaching staff, information literacy programs, and management of vibrant library spaces.  

This is an opportunity to join the Library leadership team as we work to grow and improve our services and programs, finding new ways to enhance and develop the skills our students will need to thrive in their careers and contribute to their communities. The position would suit someone who has an innovative, flexible approach and who can contribute to a changing environment.

The Role

Reporting to the University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian, Digital and Information Literacy will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the frameworks and resources the Library will use to create sustainable and accessible digital literacy and information literacy services for students and academic staff. This newly created role will lead a team of Librarians which provides significant specialist support across the student life cycle, and in partnership with the Schools, the Centre for Learning and Teaching, and Student Life, focuses on ensuring that programs and services are engaging, and tailored to specific student cohorts.

Key criteria

  • Postgraduate qualifications with extensive experience in a large academic library
  • Proven record in the design, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of information and digital literacy and related programs
  • Extensive experience in managing teams, and an ability to develop and foster a highly productive team environment in which people are working together to achieve a common goal that capitalises on diverse working styles, skills and knowledge for the benefit of the team and organisation
  • Demonstrated success in engaging diverse stakeholders within an educational context, including students, and the ability to influence and work cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $113,602 to $118,875 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
