The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute

The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute was established in 2007 as the sixth research institute of The University of Queensland. The aim of the Institute is to develop a better understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of disease, and to translate that understanding into practical outcomes for patients. Based at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital teaching campus in Brisbane, the Institute has more than 300 researchers and students who work closely with clinicians in the areas of cancer, immunology and genomic medicine

The role

The successful applicant will support the clinical and other research activities of Professor Ranjeny Thomas. You will be responsible for programming Microsoft Access clinical and research databases for storage and retrieval of clinical, epidemiological and sample storage data, developing and implementing Redcap forms for collection of clinical and epidemiological data for download to clinical database and query writing and data retrieval from clinical database, data retrieval from hospital electronic medical record and Pathology records, and entry to research database as needed.

The person

Applicants should have at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience, or extensive expertise in relevant fields, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career, good general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent statistical and analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams. Experience in programming and query writing in Microsoft Access will be essential.

Remuneration

This is a part-time (0.2 FTE), fixed term appointment for 12 months at at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $16,726.73 - $91,350.33 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $18,315.77 - $20,005.72 p.a.).
