MANAGER, ENGINEERINGedX, to act as the technical leader to a team of three to four software engineers in a role that also requires making significant hands-on contributions. Will participate in software development, project scoping, requirements reviews, and technical discovery; evaluate project opportunities with product management to map project requirements to roadmap plans; work closely with edX product managers to fully communicate project status, inter-team dependencies, and any impediments; build highly effective agile teams, instill agile practices, and identify areas for improvement and solutions; perform team budgeting and forecasting; and practice a “you build it, you run it” philosophy to software development and delivery. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  at least five years of software development experience, with at least two years in a team lead role being ideal; demonstrated experience with agile methods; experience with Python or similar languages; exposure to multiple technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Django, and MySQL; experience building online products serving millions of customers; skill leading and developing engineers; and demonstrated bias to action and ability to manage ambiguity. Seek someone who enjoys hands-on coding and technical challenges. A bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred.  Job #16709-P
